With a nod to legendary Broadway composer, Stephen Sondheim’s masterpiece “West Side Story,” Broadway’s current force of nature, Lin-Manuel Miranda created and has just released, “Almost Like Praying,” a song to raise desperately needed money for the hurricane ravaged island of Puerto Rico.

Featuring “Artists for Puerto Rico,” Miranda assembled a constellation of Latin stars from every corner of the entertainment galaxy performing on the new track.  Included in the line-up are Tony winner, Rita Moreno; last summer’s mega-hit master Luis Fonsi; Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan, and of course JLo but the list goes on and on.

Proceeds from the sale and download of “Almost Like Praying” will benefit the Hispanic Federation hurricane relief for the 3.4M Americans citizens living in Puerto Rico.

When the President visited San Juan on Tuesday, he tossed out paper towels to the crowd like Eva Peron tossing coins to peasants, and you could practically hear him singing “Don’t Cry For Me Puerto Rico.”   But “Almost Like Praying” is a passionate, and heartfelt response to the humanitarian crisis which will not only raise much need funds but is sure to raise the spirit of the Puerto Ricans on the island and the mainland.
