Pulse Nightclub Massacre, Fourth Anniversary Remembered: “We Will Not Let Hate Win”
In recent weeks, our nation has had an awakening to the hate of racism deeply woven into the fabric of the American story. Four years ago, it woke up to the story of the greatest massacre of Americans at that time in its history and our Community again felt the hate of homophobia. Forgotten or overlooked in that LGBT+ hate crime is almost all of the 49 victims were people of color.
We remember them now.
“We Will Not Let hate Win” is the pledge of One Pulse Foundation who is scheduled to unveil renderings for the permanent memorial in a few week but their work goes far beyond memorializing. The foundation includes scholarships, education, programing and running the interim memorial in Orlando.
Even before covid-19 made our Community, our Pride and gathering virtual, the “Pulse Memorial One Pulse” virtual 360 tour was already a stunning tribute to the lives lost, power of love, and ending hate.

If “Love is Love,” then “Hate is Hate.”
We must all stand together, step forward, and be ant-racist, anti-homophobic, anti-hate.
