The idiom “mad as a March hare” should probably be updated to “mad as a March queer” now that Justin Sayre is reconvening The Meeting* at Joe’s Pub after a three-year hiatus for two shows on March 2nd and 29th.  The acclaimed comedy/variety show has been called “Brilliant, stirring and funny” by Will Friedwald of The Wall Street Journal.

Hosted by Justin Sayre with a slate of special guests, The Meeting* — the monthly gathering of the International Order of Sodomites, the centuries-old organization which sets the mythic Gay Agenda, returns this season for regular performances at Joe’s Pub becoming the longest-running LGBTQ variety show in New York.  Known for its audacious humor, trailblazing political discourse and button-pushing cultural exploration. Sayre will present two different evenings in March.

Celebrating “The Ladies of Country” on Monday, March 2 at 9:30PM with special guests Bridget Barkan, Melody Berger, Drew Droege, Larry Krone, and Bobby Blue the Balladeer.

Honoring “The Ladies of Disco” on Sunday, March 29, at 9:30 PM. Special Guests TBA.

The spring season continues April 26 and May 31; and Night of a Thousand Judys, the special all-star Pride concert celebrating Judy Garland to benefit the Ali Forney Center, will return for its eighth annual installment in June.  Additional shows are scheduled through December 2020.

Tracy Stark serves as music director for the series.
