Be a “Stay-Put Sally” with Broadway’s Lauren Molina: MUSIC VIDEO
By Lawrence Pfeil, Jr.
Yesterday, we featured Nick Cearley of the undie rock duo The Skivvies Bette Midler song redux, “Social Distance.”
Today we have the “panties” of the pair, Lauren Molina giving us her original, as she calls it, a “quarantune.” Love that! (wish I’d thought of it lol)
Lauren was very thoughtful and generous sending the video directly to theOUTfront yesterday. While I was updating the post about Nick, I was about to add it to get it out ASAP but decided to save it.
It’s still Women’s History Month. Entirely too often women play second fiddle (or cello). I wanted to give Lauren and her music, her own space, the respect, and appreciation herstory deserves.
So, listen up Mary and sing out Louise!
This is Lauren Molina’s “Stay-Put Sally – A Quarantine Singalong”
Stay-Put Sally – A Quarantine Singalong
I’m just gonna be a stay-put Sally,
Gonna sit inside, my home is where I’ll stay.
I’m just gonna be a stay-put Sally,
Cause stay-put Sallys really save the day.
Maybe you heard about a curve to flatten,
Keep your distance, wash your hands, ok
Everybody’s got a hatch to batten, Stay put Sallys really save the day.
I’m just gonna be a stay-put Sally
Gonna sit inside, my home is where I’ll stay.
I’m just gonna be a stay-put Sally,
Cause stay-put Sallys really save the day.
Maybe I’ll get fatter, maybe I’ll work out, maybe I’ll get sadder, maybe I’ll luck out.
Maybe I’ll watch something that puts my mind at ease,
All I know is stay put Sallys do as they please, except for spread disease
oh Everybody be a stay-put Sally
Everybody sit at home all day
Everybody think about each other
Cause stay put Sallys really save the day
Oh yeah Stay put Sallys really save the day.
Oh yeah Stay put Sallys really save the day…
And many more, days in quarantine.

It may be awhile before Lauren and Nick get to make beautiful “stripped down” music together in person, so if this is the start of a Skivvies Video Challenge, we don’t mind!
Be sure and follow artists like Lauren and Skivvies partner, Nick Cearley on Instagram
And on Twitter
Check The Skivvies website for information about future in person performances when it becomes available HERE
(wish I’d thought of this too)
