The View Upstairs announces Cast Recording

It was an all but forgotten piece of LGBT history brought to life again as a stage musical, and now it’s being preserved.  For those wanting to enjoy Max Vernon’s vibrant new musical, The View UpStairs off-Broadway, but don’t live in the New York City area, August 11th the cast recording will be released both digitally and on CD.

According to

Directed by Scott Ebersold, The View UpStairs opened to positive reviews February 28. The story is inspired by one of the most significant, but rarely spoken about attacks against the LGBTQ community that took place in a New Orleans gay bar called The UpStairs Lounge. Invisible Wall Productions is behind the New York premiere, which is scheduled to play through May 21.

The cast is made up of Jeremy Pope (Invisible Thread), Taylor Frey (How to Succeed…), Nathan Lee Graham (Priscilla Queen of the Desert), Frenchie Davis (Rent), Benjamin Howes (Scandalous), Michael Longoria (Jersey Boys), Ben Mayne, Nancy Ticotin, Randy Redd (Million Dollar Quartet), Richard E. Waits, and Anthony Alfaro. James Dobinson serves as music supervisor and orchestrator.”
