Mayor Pete Buttigieg Wows Ellen DeGeneres

What could be better for a Friday “happy hour” than Democratic rising star, Mayor Pete Buttigieg having a sit-down interview with Ellen? Unless it’s having his adorable and hilariously funny husband, Chasten in the audience too.
On today’s Ellen Show, Mayor Pete gets personal with the Queen of Daytime about his meteoric rise in a crowded field of 18 Democratic primary contenders, his military service, and being a newlywed.
Ellen also gives the him the opportunity to respond to former Governor of Indiana, and current VP Mike Pence’s comments regarding Mayor Pete supposedly criticizing his Christian faith. For the record here’s what Buttigieg, who is an Episcopalian, said.
“How would he [Pence] allow himself to become the cheerleader for the porn star presidency? Is it that he stopped believing in scripture when he started believing Donald Trump?” Buttigieg said. “I don’t know. I don’t know.”
The official and historic announcement of Pete Buttigieg’s candidacy for President of the United States as an openly gay man will be made in his hometown of South Bend, Indiana on Sunday morning. But as husband, Chasten pointed out on twitter, the weather forecast is for rain. No problem. He’s already got it solved in his own fabulous way.
