The dynamic darlings of the Democratic primary, “Mayor Pete” and husband, Chasten have captured the hearts, minds and imaginations of Americans looking for “optimism, courage, and hope.” For our Community, last week’s announcement in South Bend, Indiana of Pete Buttigieg’s run for President, as an openly gay married man with his husband by his side, was not only historic but validating and deeply emotional.
In his meteoric rise, Mayor Pete has given countless interviews and yet somehow, they never seem rehearsed, canned, or repeats (no pun intended). He’s does it by being authentic and speaks with humility, even when telling his own story.
CBS Sunday Morning sat down with Pete and Chasten (and a surprise guest) in their home in South Bend, and it’s not just another interview, with the potential First Gentlemen of the United States of America.
Married last June, Pete and Chasten’s wedding made the “New York Times” Weddings section with the headline, “Pete Buttigieg Might Be President Someday. He’s Already Got the First Man.”

I’ve watched every interview I can find with Pete Buddigieg and any and all photos and videos with his husband Chastain. I know Pete would make a great President of this country and Chastain and he are a wonderful couple. Both are intelligent, heartfull, kind AND funny. Thank you for the great wedding picture above.
