This Valentine’s Day RuPaul Gives Us ‘Courage to Love’

When our world is filed with anger, hate, and injustice towards all, Valentine’s Day seems an ideal time to remind ourselves that it is greater to love.  But with so many propagating it, promoting themselves with it, and profiting from hate, it’s not easy to resist returning it in kind.  But a very wise man once said,

 

Admittedly, Valentine’s Day is traditionally about the romantic love between two people, but even that isn’t always easy.

 

It takes a lot to love: patience, understanding, kindness, compassion, and even courage.  RuPaul has reminded us of this very thing in the track “Courage to Love” off her latest album, Black Butta.  A few days ago, the super model/drag queen/star posted this tease on Instagram.

RIGHT???  “Courage to Love” not only brings a message of empowerment, resilience, and love, but RuPaul does it with one of the most fabulous dance songs in a long time.  What’s more, the brilliance of it all is – it comes from a Black Gay man who has made the art of drag a global phenomenon preaching the message of loving yourself.
