Three time Tony Award winner, Patti LuPone is a Gay Icon for many reason, but maybe none more so than she always says exactly what she’s thinking.
CNN producers would have done well to remember that last night when they booked her as Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper’s guest for their New Years Eve live broadcast. Lucky for the rest of us they didn’t because La LuPone brought her BDE (Big Diva Energy) to “out with the old in with the new” that we’ve all been needing.
The trio were set to play a lighting round game of “Does Patti Give A Damn?!” so obviously unfiltered, pure Patti was expected if not desired. And as the adage goes, “careful what you wish for.”
And they GOT IT! What CNN did not “got” was somebody with their finger on the bleep button. Thank God! Cause it was all FABULOUS!!!
Patti’s hilarious expression after she realized she’d dropped the F bomb; Andy’s priceless reaction, and Anderson Cooper just looking down… probably texting his agent, “I don’t care how Just get me outta here NOW!”
