LGBT-Friendly Pages Disappear on the White House Website Following Trump Inauguration

If you went to the White House web page early Friday morning and typed “whitehouse.gov/lgbt,” what will you find? Not what you would have just a couple of hours after Trump’s inauguration.

A redirect to a generic page asking you to “Sign up for updates from President Donald J. Trump!” on a page dominated with – what else? – a photo of the new President and his Vice President.

According to a report today in the Daily Caller, one of the first directives of the new Trump administration was to take down LGBT policy agenda of the Obama administration.

“In the past, if a user typed whitehouse.gov/lgbt into a browser window, a page would appear showing the Obama administration’s policies and results in relation to their LGBT agenda,” reports the Daily Caller.

“However, just moments after Trump became president, the browser window that appeared after typing the same url is now a ‘transitionsplash’ page.”

Also gone is a page on the Department of Labor website that displayed a report on “advancing LGBT rights in the workplace,” along with several blog posts on the issue.

Upon further review, we at the OUT Front have discovered it has now been archived on the Obama White House page, but it does appear in fact that there WILL NO LONGER BE AN LGBT PAGE under a Trump administration. Shame, shame, shame on any gay person who voted for him!
