Broadway revival of landmark Gay musical, Falsettos is going on Tour

Falsettos, the landmark gay musical proclaiming “love can tell a million stories” is taking its tale of family, acceptance, courage, and growing up across America next year, just in time for Stonewall 50.  The announcement was made today that the first national tour of five-time Tony Award nominated Lincoln Center Theatre revival will launch in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Theater March 20, 2019 before heading out on the road.   

According to Playbill.com the triangle at the heart the unconventional family will star Broadway veterans “Nick Adams (La Cage aux Folles and Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as Whizzer, Eden Espinosa (Wicked, Brooklyn The Musical) as Trina, and Tony nominee Max von Essen (An American in Paris) as Marvin.

The groundbreaking Falsettos consisting of March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland.  The three-year journey follows Marvin, his ex-wife Trina, his psychiatrist Mendel, son Jason, gay lover Whizzer Brown, and “the lesbians from next door” Cordelia and Dr. Charlotte in the early days of the AIDS crisis.

It premiered on Broadway in 1992 and was nominated for seven Tony Awards, of which it won Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score.
