Anthony Rapp alleges sexual advances when he was 14 by Kevin Spacey

In the three short weeks since the abhorrent Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment/assault scandal broken in Hollywood, two things were certain. It was only a matter of time before “opened” on Broadway and it involved a gay closet case. But in a twist worthy of the best American playwright it sadly involves an underage boy.
In a story that broke Sunday, openly gay stage and screen actor, Anthony Rapp alleges in an article in Buzzfeed.com the Tony and two-time Oscar winner, Kevin Spacey sexually advances and tried to seduce him after a party at his apartment in 1986. Rapp was only 14yo; Spacey was 26.
According to the article,
“He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me,” Rapp said.
“He was trying to seduce me. I don’t know if I would have used that language. But I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually,” Rapp added.

In response to the story Spacey tweeted this apology.
“I have a lot of respect and admiration for Anthony Rapp as an actor. I’m beyond horrified to hear this story… I honestly do not remember the encounter … But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior …”
Spacey then went on make this announcement
“…I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man.”

Kevin you don’t get to dump your perverted pedophile shit on the LGBT doorstep in an attempt to change the subject from what you did!
- What the hell were you thinking/doing inviting a 14yo boy to a party at your apartment in the first damn place???
- We’ve all done regrettable drunk shit, but you don’t remember picking up a 14yo boy; carrying him to the bed and climbing on top of him? You couldn’t have been that drunk if managed all that. Bitch Please!

This morning Rapp tweeted this,
“I came forward with my story, standing on the shoulders of the many courageous women and men who have been speaking out to shine a light and hopefully make a difference, as they have done for me,”
“Everything I wanted to say about my experience is in that article, and I have no further comment about it at this time.”
Anthony, thank you for speaking out about this harrowing and painful episode in your life. Your courage and strength is sure to inspire others to follow you example.

Kevin Spacey can GO TO HELL is right!!!
How dare he try and use our Community to hide behind and give ammunition to all the right-wing bastards and Evangelicals who already believe gays are pedophile to begin with.
Shouldn’t stories such as these provide an update on the top of the article’s page? These allegations destroyed Kevin Stacey’s life. And both at the Civil Trial and the Criminal Trail Kevin Stacey was found not guilty. Details of Rapp’s story were proven to be impossible, such as the fact he apartment Kevin was renting where the event was said to have taken place was a bachelor/studio apartment signifying there was no bedroom for the alleged encounter to have taken place. The level to which we condemn a person guilty prior to a court verdict when we the public and the media do not have the facts is actually quite disgusting. There is a middle ground. We do not need to publicly condemn or smear the character of the alleged criminal to hear the victim’s alleged ordeal without publicly denouncing their character. The fact there was no bedroom and other details proven in the courtroom point to wholes in Rapp’s story. If there was no bedroom there was no carrying Rapp by Spacey to the bedroom, no laying on top of him in a bedroom that never existed. One, two, there plus wholes in the story, three plus impossibilities, then the alleged encounter as stated didn’t not occur. Rapp a supporting actor whose name I never knew he was so insignificant suddenly became known to me via the alleged encounter with Spacey, thrust himself into the spotlight to become a person of interest were still a berated supporting actor him and his lover and their new infant don the front page of a magazine, because the public cares a story of joy coming to one to have allegedly gone through an ordeal of sexual harassment as a teen. One person’s career went up they others went down. Basically black listed from Hollywood for crimes criminally and civilly found not guilty for. Why do we do this? It’s such a bottom feeder thing to do? To enjoy watching another falter from the public esteem and personal success we ourselves have not known. And despite being found not guilty, despite there being evidence that showed the encounter as Rapp reported it to have occurred was impossible, all these articles are the first thing to pop up if one types Kevin Spacey into goggle. To be journalists verses a mere sensationalist smit writers update should be made at the top of the page stating the acquittal.
