One of life’s great pleasures is spending a leisurely Sunday afternoon in an art museum gazing at the body of work on display.  It’s an extraordinary pleasure when the artist’s body is a “work of art” itself; and exceptional if he is using part of it as his painting tool.

In the case of Canadian “artsexual,” Brent Ray Fraser all of those would be true.

While there are other “prick painters,” Fraser is the real deal, a studied artist as he told Vice.com in an interview,

“A timid student in high school, Fraser began working out as a way to combat bullies and gain self-confidence. It was his way of putting on a “superhero mask,” inspired by the strong fictional men he admired growing up. He went on to study fine art at Vancouver’s Emily Carr University of Art and Design[2009 graduate], where he focused on human anatomical art.”

In 2006, Fraser presented his chiseled physique as moving sculpture in a gallery.  The experience was liberating that it lead to a successful but ultimately unfulfilling career so he gave up stripping for his art but it kept pulling him back.  In a recent interview with CINEDUMP.com,

“[I was] travelling quite a bit, ladies nights, working in gay bars, doing all sorts of things. But not painting. So the fourth time I retired was strictly to focus on painting.  Then, inspiration: “I had an idea where I could paint onstage during my Ladies’ Nights, during this performances, and that’s what kind of fused those things together.

Artsexuality was born. And while it may, at present, be an orientation of one, that hasn’t stopped Fraser from exploring its’ limits, meaning, and scope.”

(To be honest, we originally thought this was going to be a “sensationalized” gimmick, but as you’ll see, it’s totally legit and serious work; and probably what adds to making the experience incredibly erotic.)
