Based on the news stories of abhorrent racism half way through Black History Month 2019, it would appear past attempts at bringing the vibrant stories of Black culture, contribution, and perseverance into the American tapestry have been a dismal failure. The folks at “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” took a look at Black history as we know it or in this case don’t and pointed out there is a lot more to it than Rosa Parks, MLK, and a President. Black history also intersects with Gay History.
Professors Jelani Cobb, Jamilah Lemieux, Mychal Denzel Smith, Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, George Wallace, and Walter Naegle are here to remind you that Black History is American History.
