Saints’ QB Drew Brees is MVP in new video for Anti-LGBT Hate Group

Since joining the New Orleans Saints in 2006, he has been widely credited with revitalizing not just the team but the Crescent City itself after the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.  He is one of the most talented and recorded holding quarterbacks in NFL history and off the field his positive and inspiring spirit has made him a role model and best friends with fellow New Orleanian, Ellen DeGeneres.

But there’s something foul in the Brees, and it stinks to high heavens.

It’s common knowledge Drew Brees is a Christian so it’s not surprising that he’d make a video PSA promoting his faith and that’s all good.  What is shocking and appalling is he recorded it for Focus on the Family, one of the most well-funded anti-LGBT hate groups in the country.

In addition to condemning anything and everything about LGBT+ people with misinformation and homophobic propaganda, Focus on the Family strongly promotes Conversion Therapy as an effective way “to change” gay people. Even though it has been debunked by the psychiatric profession and many of its once leading practitioners, they continue to advocate its dangerous, abusive, and sometimes fatal practice.

It’s interesting to note, while Focus on the Family encourages “torturing gay people straight” therapy, their website also offers extensive marriage support and therapy options but ignores Biblical commands about putting to death straight couples who divorce.

Drew Brees, an anti-bullying advocate, would know that if he had read their website and one has to believe he does since it also boast the Brees Family page since 2015.

In the anti-bullying PSA he recorded for The Ellen Show he said, ““Appreciating people for how they’re different from you – that’s what it takes to be a friend.”

Clearly, Drew Brees is no friend of the LGBT+ Community and his hypocrisy in “living his faith” by encouraging “Bring your Bible to School Day” for an organization that uses it to foster hate, disseminate lies, and hurt people is beyond disgusting.  Given the way the video has been passed around with a “sight of hand” on the internet, and how Brees has kept his association with Focus on the Family since 2010 on the downlow, he is fully aware of who and what he’s supporting and is doing it anyway.

The only thing left to say is hopefully one if not all of his four children are LGB and/or T.

I believe you are reaching and starting a conversation for something that is not there. Nowhere in the video is Drew Brees condemning anyone in the LGBT+ Community.

Brees made the video for the viriolent anti-LGBTQ hate group Focus on the Family. As the original article lays out, he and his family have been associated with them for at least nine years. He even recorded an audio CD for them which is available for purchase. He is therefore supporting their hate and homophobia in a bigger way than just this PSA and should be held accountable for his actions.
