O-o-h Child… Here’s a Song that’ll Lift your Soul

“O-o-h child
Things are gonna get easier
O-o-h child
Things’ll get brighter

This week has been a horror show literally and figuratively.

From the hate fueled “Unite the Right” rally that ended in a white nationalist terror attack with a car in Virginia to the ISIS terrorism in Barcelona to the carnage in Finland, the innocent blood shed has been grotesque and sickening.

Only adding to the our disgust, has been the President calling the NAZIs in Charlottesville “very fine people,” and equating the Alt-Right with people protesting for racial justice and equality.  He may have “fired” his chief racism strategist Steve Bannon, but Donald Trump proved this week, he doesn’t need any help when it comes to bigotry and hate.

“Some day, yeah
We’ll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Some day
When the world is much brighter
Some day, yeah
We’ll get it together and we’ll get it all done”

We have been working to find something uplifting to post at the end of such a terrible week.  We’ve gone waaay back to 1970 and The Five Stairstep’s hit “O-oo Child,” a soul anthem that gave hope to the Black Community during their fight for civil rights.

TheOUTfront embraces this timeless classic, its message, and sends it out with love to everyone hurting this week.
