An LGBT Solidarity Rally has been planned to take place Saturday at the Stonewall National Monument in New York City.
The rally, which is a response to sweeping anti-immigrant and anti-muslim executive orders from the White House, comes on the heels of the Women’s Marches that took place across the country in mid-January and pop-up demonstrations that took place in airports around the nation last weekend.
The rally is scheduled to take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the West Greenwich Village site. As of this writing, according to a Facebook page set up by gay New York City Councilman Corey Johnson, there are over 4.8 thousand expected attendees.
Event organizers note that the rally may move to an earlier date if a rumored anti-LGBT executive order is signed.
“Join us in front of the Stonewall Inn as we stand in solidarity with every immigrant, asylum seeker, refugee and every person impacted by Donald Trump’s illegal, immoral, unconstitutional and un-American executive orders,” reads the details on the Facebook page set up to announce the rally. If any of our readers are in attendance, we would love to post your photos. Some of us from the OUT Front will in fact be there as well!
