The list of crazy and inaccurate things that have been said about homosexuals over time could fill a book but believing that LGBTs are not even human beings i.e. homo sapiens would definitely be at the top of the list. Such is the claim made by lawmaker Republican (what else?) lawmaker Rick Brattin of Missouri (that figures).
According to Fusion.com
“Missouri lawmakers voted to approve a bill that would make it dramatically more difficult for people to successfully sue their former employers for discriminatory wrongful termination.
During Monday’s debate, Rep. Kevin Engler, a Republican, introduced an amendment to make it illegal to discriminate against people based on their sexual orientation and gender identity—something not currently on the state books.”
But fellow Rick Brattin took issue stating,
“When you look at the tenets of religion, of the Bible, of the Qu’ran, of other religions, there is a distinction between homosexuality and just being a human being.”
Got that? There’s gay people, and then there’s “just being a human being.”
Didn’t Brattin just call us “gay people?” And people are human beings. Therefore, gay people are gay human beings. DUMBASS!
We can write-off Brattin as right-wing crazy Evangelical Christian (is that redundant?) but we have to remember he won an election and was voted in to office by a majority of people who think the way he does.
