Last month, Sir Elton John kicked off his three-year, 300 performance, “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour and this month the prolific “Captain Fantastic” has released the first trailer for his biopic, Rocketman due out next summer.
According to the website, “Rocketman is an epic musical fantasy about the uncensored human story of Sir Elton John’s breakthrough years, starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell, Richard Madden and Bryce Dallas Howard.”
The film is produced by Elton John and husband, David Furnish who met when Furnish was making his first film, Elton John: Tantrums and Tiaras, a behind the scenes look at the “madman across the water” on tour in the mid-1990s. Rocketman promises to show both the triumph and tragedy of being a music genius.
Based on the teaser trailer released today, the film looks to be a visually stylized journey, through Reginald Dwight’s career and partnerships which plays like one of his musicals itself.
